Jessica-- I'm certain technology will be your friend. Fling at least for 2 months. I like that your bubbles mention ways we need to understand technology to teach it. I've been thinking of all the fun plans we can do with students through tech integration, but I forgot about the basics. I too need to know about the smart board and how to use elmo without staling (losing student's attention while I flounder). We are not alone. I've heard other teachers complaining about not knowing how to use the instructional technology tools in their classrooms. Maybe we can mention wanting a demo in class. Rosie
You may think technology is not your friend, but i think it actually is. If you think about our parents, at least mine, they are afraid of learning new technology. You at least jump in every-time and try. Look at your blog title, did you ever think you would be blogging within 1 week? To put your mind at ease, i cannot text and really think it is socially destroying how people interact in society, so you have more knowledge than me on that front.
I see in one of your bubbles that you wanted to learn to use the promethean board. After seeing the presentation in our math class, how do you feel about using it in your classroom? I think they would be a pretty handy tool if the teacher was efficient with it and knew what he/she was doing. By the way, do you have one in your classroom now?
Jessica--
